I generally don’t prefer reading spiritual books. This happened “by chance”.
So this is when i was on a trip to kerala last week. In between all the functions, we had one spare day left for our “Cousins outing”. Initially, we’d planned for a day trip to fantasy park. But unfortunately we couldn’t go with that and to further dismay the members reduced to half. We had no plans up until morning as to which place to go. We just took the car and left, agreeing that we’ll decide something on the way. So, on the way we locked on to drive to Coimbatore to a forest which also had waterfalls. Sounded perfect. When we reached there, the entry was closed. Argh! “Problems problems”.
Saddened and half day gone we started driving back. Just then we saw a board “Isha Yoga Centre”, 7 kms away. We all just saw it together and agreed right away. (Not because of spirituality in us but just so that the plan is onn).
The place was BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely stunned by how it is made in the foothills of HUGE mountains. It was serene. I was the least interested in yoga and stuff. It feels too slow for me.
Photography wasn’t allowed, footwear’s not allowed, nothing allowed inside. I was like, argh! But once we entered in i was totally CAPTIVATED by the people and natural beauty around.
I’m from mumbai, and we all live in so much chaos. Just by being there it felt quite different. It felt good.
Calm, relaxing and energetic.
Once you enter the yoga centre, everything is different.
You start with taking a cold bath in the KUND (Suryakund for men and Chandrakund for Women). It is said and believed that being in there for 7-10 minutes gives you positive energy and feel.
Well, going by my thoughts, I would just say it feels good. You definitely feel positive.
Then moving on, we saw few murtis and a temple, the volunteers there were so friendly and happy-to-go people. They made you feel good and welcomed. Without making any difference between rich and poor, elderly or young. They welcomed everyone with same spirit and enthusiasm.
Next, we moved on to do meditation for 15 minutes wherein the volunteers had instructions written in small boards, guiding people without speaking. Total silence. For every 15 minutes the batch changes and you move on to the next. (You may sit for as long as you wish though).
Next there was this cave-like place where the meditation would continue for another 15 minutes. But here with Echo-chamber feels and soothing aroma filled in the place by volunteers.
Then there were lot more things to see. Let’s keep it brief and you can relish the place whenever you visit.
I really can’t explain in words how i felt inside. It was soo soo good. Then we went to the Isha Foundation shop just to glance through items available there. Ended up buying 2 Books –
1. Life and Death in one Breath
2. Mind is your business / Body the greatest gadget (2 in 1 book)
Have almost completed the first one in 5-6 days, should finish it in a day or two. (Utilizing my daily travel time to it’s best).
All in all, this experience was pure co-incidence. I would NEVER have visited this place had it not been a situation like this.
Sometimes, we restrict our thinking, we restrict our beliefs. We stay limited to the physical things around whereas what we should actually do is – Bring together all 4 elements (As sadhguru says) and make a better living – Mind, Body, Emotion and Energy.
Bringing this in alignment and opening up to new horizons will have many doors open up to us.
Not being spiritual and getting this experience was blissful.
