FOMO | Missing out Thoughts | How are you reacting?

Fomo- Fear of missing out.

This Gen Z acronym sounds cool, isn’t it?
But do you really wanna get into this loop? Let’s dive in a bit deeper..

Fomo forces us to do things fast, to do it in speed.

Let’s connect on the social account that you’re in –

Well, to understand speed better, let’s ask few questions to ourselves.

• Do you get adrenaline rush when you speed up your vehicle ?
If you answered yes, then we need to bring things back to perspective. What SPEED does is actually take us out of control, doesn’t it?
But this doesn’t mean we don’t need speed. We want it because, it gets us to places and destination we want to go faster. There’s nothing harm in that, it is actually good. You’re driven by purpose.
You speed because that’s how you’re. You can deal with it. You’re not trying to race with somebody, you’re not trying to race with time. Simply, according to your competence you’re handling something. That needs to happen in every aspect of life.
The Only problem is when we get controlled by speed, rather than keep it under our control. That’s when things get hasty. You don’t need haste, you need balance.

When absolute balance is there, we can do things to the fullest, that we can do.

This is where the FOMO problem comes into picture. People have this fear of missing out on what their friends might be doing.

For example- I’m sitting here, reading a book. But somebody else is having a party, somebody else is having a party. Somebody else is doing this, somebody else is doing that.
Now think through, what kind of madness is that? You get stuck in the loop. In the viscous cycle. Once you get stuck into this madness, there is no relief. This is enslavement. A worst kind of enslavement, because you want to do everything that everybody does.

Now let’s understand, evolution and revolution.

• Evolution is moving FORWARD.
• Revolution is moving AROUND.

Fomo is also an evolutionary issue. You’re falling back instead of moving forward.
This also is a LACK of evolutionary mindset.
You need to learn to be STILL, only then you can detach with the cyclical thoughts and understand reality.

Your action should be an ABSOLUTE thing. When you want to act, you act. Otherwise, you’re fine with sitting still. (Being still is a necessary thing if you want to grasp the knowledge of what’s happening around).

#Comment as to what you think about this FOMO culture.
• Do you hop into it always?
• Do you get caught up at times?
• Or are you totally still and understand things well and react in absolute terms.

Let’s be real. I’m from the second category. At times, i too get caught up in fomo. Also, avoiding it most of the times possible.

Talking about HASTE, our education system is also in haste. But let’s keep that to the next topic of our daily drop.

Until next time..

FOMO is a real issue these days. With all these social networking apps, we’re always bombarded with new messages or posts or just random piece of information or gossip which is no way beneficial to us.

Yeah, that’s what. We just haven’t found peace with it. Just unending scrolls.
      Drains us out.

While it’s good to be virtually connected but we need to limit ourselves.

      Thanks for stopping by!

Absolutely agree! But sadly, this FOMO keeps us attached to our gadgets.

I had FOMO for a while without realizing it. Social media, mass media and comparison culture. There was so much anxiety and it was not a good feeling. Thankfully, I’ve learned to slow down like you said. Thanks for this reminder

That is really a great achievement. I am also trying to reduce it as much possible.
Past experience had me consumed too much on the social media and news!
It’s better to bring perspective and understand that most of the things we see on social media are just repeated and worth our time.

      Thanks for the comment ya!
